  1. problem 1: every once in a while i will get a power calibration error just before it starts to write the lead in. i have 2 burners and it mainly happens on my pioneer dvr 106 (i think, could be 107) also occasionally hapens with my mad dog nec dvdrw nd 2500a. it started recently and i have had the pioneer for about a year and the mad dog for about 4 months.

problem 2: i'm using nero 6.0 to burn. i have an 8x burner (mad dog) and 8x discs (ritek) but nero won't burn at 8x. if i use a 4x disc in that burner with nero 6 it says "can only burn at 4x to this type of media". when i use an 8x disc it doesn't say anything on the record, but near the bottom it says burning at 4x. there is a drop down menu where you can pick 2 or 4 x, but no 8x. it takes about 13-15 min with eiter kind of disc (both ritek). how can i get it to burn at 8x? do mad dog products just suck or what? i haven't had any problems other than that.

The power calibration errors could be that version of Nero.

It could be your burner crapping out or it could be bad media.

I suggest upgrading your firmware and upgrading your Nero to the latest version.

    Nero 6.3.1.25
