  1. So I'm using DVD Decrypter/ DVD Shrink method to do my backups. If I rip only the movie with DVD Decrypter, and it is less than 4.3G, can I just go ahead and burn the "Movie Only" files into Nero (in the Video_TS folder) and burn it that way, or is the only way to use Nero is if I ripped the whole movie?

I know this is a remedial question, but I'm kinda new to all of this. So far all my burns have been good though. (Knock on wood)

You're spot on so far. Nero couldn't give a bat's clacker if you are doing movie only or the whole disc. As long as it gets the IFO, BUP and VOB files in the VIDEO_TS folder, it's happy.

EDIT: Had a blonde moment. Please disregard
    If in doubt, Google it.

You can't burn those files because you are broking the DVD structure. You need to re-author it. Just use DVD Shrink directly (it can decrypt most of DVDs without any problems). Use the Re-author mode etc...

If the original size for all files are less than 4.38 GB then you can burn those files directly with Nero (after using DVD Decrypter or alternative program of course).

  4. The reason I ask is that I had backuped a movie in a Video_TS folder and wasn't sure if it was just the movie or all the files. I also had used DVD Shrink to create 1GB ISOs and and .mds file (not realizing this was not necessary). When I got my DVD Burner, I tried burning the Video_TS folder with Nero in DVD-Video format (where Nero automatcally creates a Video_TS and Audio_TS folder. When I tried to burn it, Nero said something to the effect of "My file structure was not correct. The burn may not work. Do you still want to continue?". I stopped there.

So yesterday, I backed up Kids, and when I ripped it, the ripped files only came out to 3.8G, so I just burned it with Nero and everything was fine. So I'm guessing my initial burn when I got the error was when I only ripped the movie.

    Sorry if this is confusing.
