  1. Ok I'm pullin my hair out.
I have a copy of a dvd movie that has NO ENCRYPTION or copy protection.
It plays in my dvd player in my home theatre but if I play in dvd rom on pc via Windows Media Player all I get is video, no audio. Codecs?....loaded as many as I could find but yea probably not the right one.

Ok the thing is the guy I got it from says all he did was copy dvd to dvd and it works great. At first I did the same and of course it would only play on pc.
Used "dvd decrypter" (latest version) to decrypt to .iso file, then used "dvd shrink" (latest version) to make dvd from .iso. Now it will play on dvd in home theatre with no audio and the same on pc via windows media player. Funny thing is it will play WITH SOUND using win dvd on pc.

Original copy is on Memorex DVD -R and works ok. DVD burner is Mad Dog Model # ME-325X and I have tried using Memorex -R, Fujifilm -R and +R, and TDK -R media burning at 2x speed.

NEED HELP!PS: Movie is less than 90 minutes I'm tryin to burn.

What did you use to burn it with?

If it was not encrypted then why use dvddecrypter?

  3. Hello Pepperpuffer
If you have a copy of a DVD movie on a DVD-R you don't need DVD Shrink . Just make an image with DVD Decrypter and burn that image with Decrypter. Pop the original disc your friend gave you into your DVDROM drive. Navigate to the VIDEO_TS folder that is on the disc and open one of the VOBs in avicodec. See what kind of audio it is. Chances are it is AC3. Let us know what you find.

Or just use your burning program and do a disc copy.

  5. Check the sound, it probably DTS so there no sound when you on your computer. While your home theater probably support DTS.
