  1. Alright I dont really know what the problem is with this but here is the problem, first off i am running win xp pro on a pentium 4 chip and asus motherboard using a nec 2510a drive, the dual layer one. Now the problem.

I can back up dvd's only when they are extracted into video_ts and audio_ts folders, if i try to burn a dvd that was backed up as an .img file the only drive that can play it is on the pc it is burned on or another PC that has the same dvd codec's. If i try to play it on any standalone DVD player i get "can not play disc" on my sony and on the philips which usually reads everything it reads the disc and plays but the screen is messed up beyond belief. The sound is perfectly fine and clear but the video scrolls up or down im not sure so you can only see like an inch of the screen and it just repeat scrolls with black lines between the video. I dont know how else to describe it as the problem just started to happen the other week and i tried everything to fix it, i even did a system restore a week prior to this incident occuring.

I am using Ritek G04's silve matte media for burning and have never had a problem before but now i have gone through 10-20 discs trying to fix this problem and it is starting to bother me so i am seeking advice. I have tried using trial versions of plenty different types of dvd burning software and i get the same results regardless. ANY ideas at all would be greatly appreciated, thanks

  3. I have no idea what you mean by proccess, i am just trying to burn a dvd. The image size is 4,466 mb a normal dvd size. Firmware i dont know i think i upgraded it the other day when i search for nec 2510a firmware on google but i dont know now cuz that was before i did system restore the media is ritek g04's and i am burning at 4x. When i try to play on a pc that i didnt burn it on i get an error something like the pc does not have the correct dvd decoder installed and when i install intermedia dvd or any player it works on pc but not on standalones.

  4. The firmware on your dvd burner will not be "rolled back" when you do a system restore. Process from start to finish-- what are you trying to do?
!i get an error something like the p! write down the EXACT error msg , program name, version, OS, exact description of problem.. more details are emerging but its like CSI, all details and facts are relevant.
