Ive narrowed down that if I try to put more than 4.08 gigs a memorex DVD+R, that says 4.7 and is 4.38, the data will burn but it does not show up on the disc. The space is definitely gone but nothings there. Ive tried windows drag and drop for just data, ive tried mounting .iso's with alcohol120 and imgburn, but if its over 4 gigs it wont freakin show up, imgburn had an error when verifying the discClick image for larger version

So any ideas would be great. The best I can figure is that the discs are garbage. Ive been using sony dvd+r's with no problem at all. I could squeeze that last bit up to the max. Ive got iso
s that are dvd images but wont mount to one of these freakin memorex dvd+r's. Please anyone with knowledge about any of this I reallllllyyyy appreciate it. I got the discs on sale, i guess it was too good to be true

not uncommon for poor quality discs to fail on the outer edge.

I don't understand what you mean by "mounting isos to these memorex". Isos are not mounted to the media...
Anyway, use Verbatim and you'll get nothing but perfect burns. At least, that's my experience.

That's what gets me these days. Back in the days of cassette tape, Memorex was the one to get. I guess they couldn't hold that quality in the recordable media arena.

I try to keep my burns at under 4Gig to prevent these types of failures. It always makes me think of an overcrowded dock, with people's heels hanging over the edge with sharks below. Less people on the dock, less chance for things to go FUBAR.

  6. long back i had an issue recognizing DVD+R with LG DVD drives and eventually DVD drive failed over by the time.
New replacement Toshiba works well either with DVD+R or DVD-R.
i guess, again i guess its DVD drive issue.
try burning same files to DVD+R using friend's computer having different brand of DVD drive.
