    Hi all;

    I am having a problem that I am hoping someone out there can help me solve. I have an Epson R200 printer that I bought to print on CD's and DVD's. The software CD that has the disc printing software won't install.
    The InstallShield error pops up in a dialog window and says it can't install, Class Not Registered.
    Has anyone else had this or a similar problem? It has me stumped.
    I googled the error but haven't had any luck figuring it out.

    ( note - Win XP Pro, with SP2)
    Thanks in advance.

    Sorry to hear your troubles but I tend to think that the above is probably the culprit...

  3. Maybe the XP SP2 - I have the Epson CD Printing software that came with my R200 and it installs fine.

    Just as a follow up, I have figured out and fixed the problem. I am posting the solution in case someone else runs into the same or a similar problem. It seems the installation of the software is controlled by the Installshield system. After some sleuthing on the 'net I found a reference that stated if there is a file or files in the Installshield directory that is(are) corrupted it will never finish the install. The fix is to navigate to and delete the Installshield directory ( normally in c:\Program Files\Installshield or something similar) and then run the install program again. The installation program will recreate the proper directory and files and install the software. I hope this helps.

    Peace out.
