For those of you who were helping me install my case, the problem was traced back to a faulty motherboard. I refuse to go back to that HP OEM, so now i need some opinions. Besides front side bus speeds and PCI slots, is there anything else I should worry about when shopping for a motherboard? If you were to buy a motherboard now what would you look for, what brand, all of that good stuff. :P Thanks for any help.

here's a good board that i was going to get but decided not to because ASUS replaced the mobo i short circuited by accident. i ended up using the replacement mobo to save some money. ASUS has good warranty and easy to contact for a RMA.

Oh my god! I actually purchased that motherboard, for 170$ at circuit city! I completely missed that, I searched at a few places to. Remember that thread where people discussed how stupid they were for spending to much on certain products, I think this one takes the cake.

Nah, I will not install another motherboard until I've had some practice with some spare parts. I don't want to risk messing it up, it seems a little bit to easy to do. I can't believe I missed that, thanks alot for pointing it out.
