Back in Perth, Western Australia, in about '86 or so there was a CLASSIC Ramones cover band called "The Remains" who played Ramones songs twice as fast...!!! (Members of the legendary "Greenhouse Effect" and "Swamp Monsters"...!!!) -

tommy is a very good engineer and works on a lot of projects as well as writes a lot of articles for recording engineer mag."Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -

I stand corrected. I forgot about Richie Ramone & Clem Burke (Blondie's drummer)...tho' they were pretty much fill-in drummers.
I saw Ramones in '88 (?) in Fremantle...with CJ on bass & Marky on drums. X supported them.
FANTASTIC GIG!!!!!! Absolutely no gaps between songs, it was instant count-ins!!! Loud as f#$k!!!!!! Packed crowds, & lots of mindless drunken mayhem!!!
I remember seeing people out in the alleyway with blood noses & black eyes, and great silly grins on their faces... At least they were enjoying themselves! -

The movie, Rock & Roll High School, is considered a cult classic.
They were a novelty act in the early MTV days - where their videos were played on heavy rotation.
I'd say they became icons for some.
Not exactly what most would consider the greatest band, but they sparked something that many teens could relate to.
They were a lot a fun...especially in the early punk and new wave era. -
So tell me? Does this mean my original vinyl pressings of the Road to Ruin & Rocket to Russia albums are to be worth a fortune some day?
Like a flea circus at a dog show!
