    PURPOSE OF REG FILE:
    * allow user to change the MBits, ie, 2520.
That is all this file does - nothing more!!

This .reg file is ONLY for the WinTV PVR (USB version)!!
It is NOT for the PCI version!!

If, for some reason, you have trouble with it, please
    let me know!

The PVR is a great little capture device.
...does great quality caps of all my DVD movies
(at 2520mbits) Womble works very well with the mpeg
files and there is no need to MUX your audio when you
    save each clip in Womble.

    * great looking caps of DVD movies
    * only caps at 352x480 - (no reg hack for this yet)
    * 192k audio only - (no reg hack for this yet)
    * Womble works very well with it - (no MUXign nessisary)
    * Mbits are: 2/4/6 - (reg hack is avail at my site)
However, 2520 (or higher) is recommended for minimum blocks.

Well, that's all I'm gonna say for now, till I finish what
I started earlier on my other pc.

Should anyone have any questions, please post here, or else
I would take a visit over to SHS site, as his/her covers the PCI more - Happy Capping!!

  2. I cannot get the link on your website to work in order to download the WinTV PVR USB 2520 reg hack. Whenever I click on it I just get a Yahoo message saying that access is forbidden.

Thanks and I look forward to trying your 2520 fix.

    toadatrix,

First, thanks for letting me know. I wasn't sure if people would experience this,
but since even I did, I though I'd make mention of it at my web site. And, now
you have. Anyway, I have added the modified .reg file to my home web address
and provided link there. Jump back over and give another try.

Also, could you tell me if you tried to download any of my samples, that you ended
    up with the same message?
I have two Yahoo Briefcase locations for the clips.
Once for the DC10, and the other for the Hauppauge's.
So, maybe if you or anyone else got this on one group, maybe you wouldn't get it
at the other (DC10 clips vs Hauppaugge clips)

To all who are trying to download (anything) at my web site, if you have problems
(note above), please let me know here. As a convenience, I provided a jump link
from my web site back to here at VCDhelp.

toadatrix, now, given your problem D/L the .reg file, I clicked on the link and had
no problem. So, maybe it's because there's too many visitors trying to D/L all at
once, or your provider is having problems, or something alone those lines.

    Sorry for the troubles though.

Try my web Web Site again

To all concerned or had problem and gave up:

I just figured something else weared out, in addition
to other problems with my web site.
But this will fix your D/L problems:

    For each link, ie., RAR / R00 / R01
you have to right-click each and COPY the link
and then paste it in your browswer window. It
will work! I did it. Too many visitors or something
is causing this glitch, and again, my Apoligies!!

    Thank you for your interests!

  5. I downloaded your reg hack for the 2520 bit rate. It installed just fine and now show up under the WinTV PVR USB prefrences capture setting. I haven't actually used it yet but will do so very soon and let you know.

Have you had any trouble with the sound sometimes being a little hollow and tiny when the video is captured through the WinTV PBR USB? I have noticed this from time to time. Is there any way to fix it? I have Cool Edit as an audio tool.

    toadatrix,

I think I know what you are talking about.
I to am experiencing audio distortions (what I call it)

I think it has something to do with the volume control,
and I'm trying to narow it down the the .reg file setting is
(volume, etc.) is just to high. I've had this kind of sound
and it was always due to my having the record slide control
too high. But, I havnn't ben able to try this fix because
right now, my sound driver (Snatz Cruz) crashed and all's
I get now is just the speaker. I don't remember what
caused it, but I have to re-install it again. Don't have the
time to do it right now. Am in the middle of an experiment - you
    don't wanna know! he, he...

You better try out the 2520. IMO, It's deffinately worth it for the
DVDs. It really is. I don't know whta purpose you have the PVR
for (view'wise) but, for me, its just for capping and burning to CD
    IOW, making CDs.

Question, do you have the same quality display in the PVR's
TV window (light colors or is it muddy colors) ???
Dont' know what video card you have, but mine is the ATI Rage Fury,
but even when I had the ATI Rage 128 card, it was the same.
I think it has something to do with the GAMMA settings somewhere.
Tmpgenc displays all my caps in beutifull colors - awsome!

I don't know if you know, but I did offer a solution to my D/L'ing
problems that people were having - posted at my web site.

I'm learning as I go (web site)
I'll only get better looking as time goes by, but I do find that
I make changes/revisions often. Maybe anal, but I want to give
the best quality/accuracy I can. I'm thinking about frames to make
it easier. But since Composer doesn't have frames I'm at a stump
at this time. But, I have something that might help ($9 bucks) he, he...

    I'm thinking, I'm thinking. . . .
