  1. I have a leaktek winfast 2000 and it has no firewire port, my computer does though, and I also have a mini dv camcorder that has a firewire port. Is it possible to capture using the firewire port? does the image quality improve over my "yellow" wire analog connection? what about SVideo to capture? which one would provide the best picture?

If your camera has Firewire and your PC has firewire, use it.

Fire wire does not 'capture' video, it transfers the digital data from the DV tape to your PC, storing it on your HD as an exact copy of the data on the tape, wrapped up inside an avi file.

It is the best quality transfer from cam to PC that can be achieved from a mini DV cam.

Well that's kind of incorrect if you got the model that comes with Video Studio8 or 7 SE which is a excellent capture to burn app. For $50 you can upgrade to the full version, since the full version is $99 you just saved yourself $10 plus got a capture card.....oh cool 3d isn't such a bad app either
