UPDATE: I just got it today and so far it's working fine. It also had firmware version 1.10....

I ordered mine on Friday and it came on Tuesday. It came with the 1.10 firmware. I've only burned 1 DVD so far - a Verbatim +R 8x. I burned it at 12x. It took slightly over 7 minutes and the disk plays back perfectly. Can't wait to burn more. This appears to be an excellent drive.
I still can't believe the price though. I paid $230 for my first DVD burner (a Sony DRU 530a) less than 8 months ago. That post about them paying you to take them by Christmas might not be that far off. Just how low can these prices get? I am amazed they can produce and sell them this cheap.
Bottom line: Great Drive, Great Price, Excellent Service from Newegg. -
Ordered one on Saturday, It will arrive on Friday. Can't wait to see what it will burn. Now to try and find 16x media......
