Trying to play a Wii through a PC hooked up to a larger projector.

Finally got some video to display after trying different programs, but the columns of video are out of sync/order.

Media Player classic has gotten me the closest to what I need so far. Other programs just don't show any video or contain buffers that are used to record thus creating delays which are unacceptable for playing video games.

We have various different codecs installed on this machine. I'm leaning towards a codec issue, but really I have no idea. haha. Please see the attached image.

Any help or suggestion would be appreciated... well besides the ones that involve me not running the wii through the PC.

    Thanks!

BTW. When pulling up the capture in windows media center the image looks fine, but there is that buffer delay that is not acceptable for playing video games.

I hate to state the obvious here but have you tried hooking up the WII directly to the projector? It should have regular input jacks as the WII can only go up as far as component cables for 480p. But you can use the plain rca jacks.

Hooking up to the projector is an option. However, the projector is ~30' from the audio input, and would also require the use of a wireless sensor bar. All video runs through a receiver near the screen - with a single HDMI cable running from the receiver to the projector.

You could try something innovative like using a rear projection system. Put the projector in the other end of the room and point it to a mirror and then have it reversed again on another mirror.

However this is far from optimal. Though projectors should have a flip feature for doing this.

It's something to consider at least.
