  1. this is realy niggling me now , just lack of knowledge is suppose

    ok avi
    701 MB (701 MB), duration: 2:01:58, type: AVI, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 33 %
    590 MB, 677 Kbps, 23.976 fps, 448*240 (16:9), XVID = XVID Mpeg-4, Supported
    110 MB, 126 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x55 = Lame MP3, Supported

now when i load into tmpgenc select ntsc , cbr mpeg 1 layer 2( not 16:9) , do the usual select the file leave at 1:1 select other settings set to advanced 1:1 vid arrange full scr keep aspect , it makes a file size 152.45% the size of the dvd , which wont fit , if i clip the end of the avi by a few seconds in source range and carry on through it fits ok but when converted there is no sound ?

i have the lame mp3 codec installed as well as gknot and kazaa packs , whats happening and why and how do i resolve the issue

i have tried de-muxing the audio to uncomp wav and then selecting the wav as the audio source in tmpgenc but its way out of sync ?

    ggrrrrrr , help please guys

mpeg m8 for burn 4.7 g, and i agree on bitrate , thought it was that , so i`d have to use unlock but i kinda get lost in unlock , coz then i cant use the wizard and dont know how big the output file will be

So.... you're trying to make a DVD-Video from XVID files?

You can use GSPOT to analyze the files, see what you got. It will let you know what codecs you need when you render.

Then encode to MPEG ... then author DVD-Video.

Size of the files is determined solely by bitrate.
Quality of video is determined mainly by the allocation of bitrate per pixel (resolution).
