  1. I had an image of Shrek 2. I used Stomp RecordNow MAX to burn image. I tried to watched DVD on my MICO DVD player but the screen showed corrupted disc. I pressed MENU and played the film. However the film was showing large pixels and there was even a delay of voice with image.

I placed the DVD in my PC NEC DVD writer. It worked perfectly!

So I burnt another DVD with slower speed and a different brand but the problem remained.

So what could be the problem?

Your DVD player. Some work with burned DVD's some don't, they can even work with one type and not another. Look your's up under the link DVD players to the left.

  3. Well some DVDs that I burnt worked others like this won't. I checke the details for my MICO and funnily enough there seems to be no problem with branded or even inbranded DVDR.

What brand of media are you using? Have you tried running the disc against and disc info tool to check for errors?

  6. Believe me or not. I solved the problem for the moment. I left the DVD inside player, switched it off and switched it on again. The corrupted sign of DVD re-appeared. I pressed Menu, played the DVD and ... worked! Crazy stuff

Now I'll try tomorrow and if it does not work I'll throw the DVD player with DVDR out of the window!!

  7. Zyloric,

From what you said the most probable culprit is the DVD player.
One of my players (a Bravo D1 imported from US because at the time it was the only one with DVI output) does the same as yours but with commercial DVDs as well as my backups.

I also have had to develop some of this "close/open with disk in or out" sort of bullshit workarounds. I got used to it though and as I can't return it I still use it for the projector.

Try it out with some commercial DVDs.
    It wasn't me.

I personally prefer the axe and stump technique, it's much more satisfying.

I'll still bet it's your DVD player since it works fine in your computer DVD player.

I've seen this before, and it can be the disc too. I've most recently noticed MCC01RG20 do it a bit more than normal. Ejecting and trying again normally helps.

Hey mods! You are dropping the ball on this one!

Shrek 2 isn't out in any (video) form right now, not until November.

    Ergo, warez.
