  1. I have a DVD that, when I play it, is black & wihte.
I know this is because it is a NTSC disk and my player can't convert that signal to PAL.
Is there a way to backup the disk to PC and convert the entire DVD, menus and all?

  2. DVD2SVCD will convert it to PAL, or it could be done by running it thru DVD2AVI, and re-encoding as PAL and re-authoring (I dont think you will be able to keep any menus or extras whichever way you do it). Converting the Video is dead easy, its the AC3 audio you are going to have problems with. Most freeware AC3 transcoding tools use the Besweet/Ffmpeg engine, which is not 100% DVD compliant. Some players are OK with the output, but others aren't. You're only other option is to buy a commercial AC3 encoder, but it would be cheaper to buy the region 2 disk...

  3. I thought as much.
I was just hoping there was a less painful way to do it.
The DVD is region 0, region free, and purchased of the shelf in Sweden,, so you'd think they'd encode it in PAL, but I guess the producers of cheap porn don't think that far.
