    Hi,

    I installed an additional ATAPI DVD-rom 16x drive to go with my _NEC DVD+RW ND-1100A drive, and it does work on occasions.
    But everytime I try to use it, I have to find it through the 'ADD hardware wizard'. I seem to have more success when reading discs from that drive. But programs like NERO seems to get confused and just stop responding.
    On the odd occasion I don't have any problems.

    Is it a compatibility issue?

    Any suggestions are appreciated.

    also try , changeing the ide cable on the DVd drive , also the drive might be failing as well

    maybe a jumper setting on the cd-rom?
