Between DVDLab and TEMPGenc DVD author, which one is better to use to create a DVD movie disc without any problems???
I would have use ULEAD moviefactory if they had allowed me to Create DVD menus without Chapter windows in the menu.
I have decided to use the predessors because they allowed me to create DVD menus with the word "Play All" instead of the ugly chapter windows DVD menu enforced by Ulead Moviefactory and the other proprietry ones.
Or is there any way to get rid of chapter windows in DVD menus when using Moviefactory???![]()

I think dvdlab is hard to beat. You can create just about any kind of menus. It is also compatible with photoshop for importing photoshop files and useing the layers as buttons. It can also do almost as much as photoshop just by itself. You do need the professional version for subtitles but I believe that tmpgenc does not support subtitles either. If you need an ac3 encoder then you can buy just the ac3 encoder from tmpgenc for $30 and put your ac3 audio into dvdlab.

I can only speak from (in)experience with TDA...(only used it a couple of times-didn't like what I got...) and vouch for DVD-Lab.

no need to create chapters...just make the "movie" as the first play option...
my 2 cents...

I am use DVDit now. No subtitle and moving icon.
Its working fine and have no complain. DVD Workshop will be the next step. Scenarist will be ultimate.

Thanks fellas, DVDLab and TDAuthor has superb DVD menu creating abilities. But in creating a DVD movie, I reckon Ulead Moviefactory is superior. If it wasn't because Ulead Moviefactory enfore chapter windows in it's DVD menu I wouldn't use DVDlab or TDA at all.
I was wondering if I could get rid of the chapter windows in DVD menus when using Moviefactory and how ??? Or could I import Photoshop menus into Moviefactory??? -
Try both and form your own opinion.

DVD-Lab pro has a feature to plug-in an AC3 encoder.
I like DVD-Lab Pro, just gives me a better "warm-fuzzy" than TMPGEN DVD Author. -
You can use the TMPGDvd Author ac3 encoder as a standalone if you wish - it's what I do anyway (drop the wav into the encoder and out comes the ac3)

TDA is not that good menu-wise. Nice simple program, multi VTS, lenient on source.
DVDLab is complex, can be buggy, not always compliant, but can make some nice menus.
I have TDA installed on my system for VCD work. No DVDLab here, not past expired demos. Not appealing enough to me.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)
