LG-DVD 6188 can´t play 800 MB SVCD ?

I am posting this, cause i run into a problem, my sister have this dvd player and she got some svcd on 800 MB cd-r, but it won´t play, can anyone tell me what is wrong, on my own player it plays correctly....

Hello,

My first suggestion is that the dvd player may not be able to play cd-r discs. Try it on a cd-rw, they can be read on many players.

Also, not all dvd players can play svcds. You can check the player in this list:
https://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers

Type in the model number and see if it plays cd-r and svcd. That should help you out.

Well I found some reports on this player on the link you provided, they state that they were able to play SVCD, but I have been in contact with
the product specialist at LG, and he sais that this player should not be able to play SVCD, cause they hadn´t bought the licens when they built this model, so who is talking the truth, the reports or the product specialist, I am little confused
