Using a laptop with VegasPro 8
    I've heard so many stories...

    bottom line...

will FireWire 800 be better than 400 ?

Considering a FireWire800 ExpressCard for my laptop.

    Thanks.

normal firewire bandwidth is about the same as a sata hard drive's STR. some faster drives like the 10K and 15K raptors would benefit more from FW800, but you might gain 10-20% better throughput with normal sata HDs.

    FW400 is sufficient for DV-stream.
