  1. I had 2 divx files which I wanted to burn on a dvd so I followed Afonic's guide with TMPGenc Xpress 3. The files are in an mpeg2 format at 352x480 after the conversion. I use Nero 6 for my burning. If I go to burn DVD it asks for ifo or vob files which didnt get created. Now if I go under CD and try to burn as VCD or SVCD, I get all that non standard compliance crap. If I just turn off the non standard compliance will I be okay to watch on a standalone? Can someone guide me in the right direction?

You need to author the files before burning. That will create the necessary .VOB, .IFO and .BUP files that Nero is looking for. Then burn it as a DVD-Video.

x22 - You will want to read the "guides" here for a better understanding of the steps of going from a source to a finished DVD. Spend the time reading those and you can avoid posts like this. and it's a lot faster too
