I īm going mad searching the internet reading completely different user reviews, and the more I read and the more contradictory info I get, the more confused I am.
It seems everywhere that the Yamada DVX-6100 is indeed a very good player. Everywhere I go, people seem to give it a much higher rating than the Yamada DVX-6600. I wonder what is the real price for the DVX-6100, and it seems almost impossible to get hold of, except from a used model at Amazon (which canīt be delivered to my location anyway).
Does anyone know from where I can order the yamada dvx-6100 to be shipped to Norway? I assume not..(?)
What really bugs me is why on earth the -6100 seems to be so much better and harder to get than the -6600. I mean, normally a newer model with a "higher number" is better than the older model, right?
Iīm on the verge of giving up this whole adventure.
So could anyone name a player that plays all the usual formats the yamadas can (divx/xvid mpg4 mpg vcd/svcd dvd-rw dvd+rw and so on) AND manages to play divx subtitles?? (the main reason for me being sceptical of the -6600, which I can get hold of, is its claimed lacking support for subs)
If anyone could give me some info on this and/or any alternative players, individual experiences, tips etc.. then that would really save my day (I mean how many days is it really healthy for a person to spend on finding a DVD player??)
I also think there are many others in the same position of wanting a player that "plays it all" AND has real support for divxsubs
Thanx A LOT in advance![]()

If you buy players with Sigma chipset, like Kiss, Neuston, etc. , almost of them are capabile to play subtitles in .sub, .srt formats. I have Neuston Maestro and is work very fine, subtitles autoplay in .avi format (srt or sub). If I burn 6 movies at one DVD blank, can recognize subtitles for each movie. I have also one Lite-On LVD 2001 what recognize only 1 format, the .srt. When I play DVD with 6 movies, can't recognize subtitles.
If you buy something with MediaTek chipset, you can have problems with subtitles. Yamada, like I heard, can recognize .srt format. Now I'm waiting the Rimax DVD DivX Multiplayer to see how their new firmware it works. -
ok, a little late for that info lol...
I decided it wasnīt healthy ruining my mental health over a dvd player, so I just ordered the Yamada dvx-6600
You think itīs a good buy, afterall the yamada does support QPEL and Kiss does not.
Awaiting the playerīs arrival eagerly...
Thanks anyway for the response -
FWIW, a modded Xbox will play them all with subtitles, Qpel, GMC, etc...
