Please don't scorch me if this subject already has been answered, but I wasn't able to find it with the search function...
Is there any easy way to go about removing some but not all of the extras on a DVD to preserve movie quality? I don't mean audio tracks, but for instance removing 2 of 3 featurettes and a set of movie trailers, while keeping menues, movie and other extras...
I'm not too bright with these things, and can't seem to wrap my head around the ripping alternatives within MacTheRipper and DVD2OneX...

you can use my "advanced" method
or as pointed out, aparently you just toss the .vob's that you dont want on the disk - ensuring you do not select anything that would reference to them -
I'd only suggest that method if you don't need to use DVD2OneX afterwards, as it will refuse to run if some VOBs are missing. Alternatively, you can choose to do a film-only compression with DVD2OneX, which will get rid of menus, or possibly a Main Feature extraction with MTR, which might keep the menus for you in default mode, while getting rid of the extra tracks.
I like systems, their application excepted. (George Sand, translated from French), "J'aime beaucoup les systèmes, le cas d'application excepté." -
If it does need dvd2one'ing then you can use the ratio set in my tutorial to calcluate what setting to set the app to such that you can then toss what you dont want and its 4.4 gigs

Thanks,
what about re-encoding menues to properly remove the buttons for missing material, how much hassle would that be?
Enormously, I presume? -
