    I have a 2 1/2 hour mpg file that will not completely encode. I get 28 minutes or at best 40 minutes, several times I got a kernel panic, other times it finished after 20-40 minutes. Any thoughts?

    Kernel panic points to an unstable OS, not any of your apps.
    • Isolating issues in Mac OS X.
    You can start with running Disk Utility.
