  1. I was downloading a file last night and for some reason it stopped on me, if I were to begin the dowload again will it just start at the beginning and overwrite what was already dowanloaded? I was using IE, but I also have Opera, and firefox if for some reason it would work better on either of them?
    THanks.
    Ryan.

It will start from the beginning. There are download manager programs that will let you resume failed or interrupted downloads, but you have to have them installed and running before you start a download so that they can take control. I never found 1 that I really liked, and I have a fast Internet connection, so it really is not necessary for me to bother with it. Maybe someone else can recommend a good 1 for you.

Flashget 1.9 is the one I use ... Bitcomet is a downloader also that I use ... I even have Getright 5.02 installed ... been using Getright 5.02 for years especially when I want to make sure the download will finish.

I did have Flashget 1.60 for the last few years but recently updated to version 1.9

  4. Will either of those programs continue what I have already downloaded or will they start fresh?

  5. And do either of them support Rapidshare?

    From their FAQ:
At this point, only Premium members can resume interrupted downloads. They can use extensive server routines which also support the downloading of segments. In this way, a file can be downloaded much faster in parallel to several streams, e.g. with the download accelerator. Please be aware that some download accelerator do not handle the download with several streams correctly and produce more traffic, which will be accumulated to your traffic. We recommend the use of RapidShareManager, which you can use at no additional cost.

Over the years I've dabbled with GetRight, and it always seemed to do a pretty fair job. I now use IEPro as an add-on to IE, which includes MiniDM as its download manager.
    If in doubt, Google it.
