Hi,
Ive tried that but then it does strange things,Firstly you enable line in but it seems to be coming from the microphone socket.. very bizzare. Quite annoying but i als o have a webcam setup as well and it likes the microphone in that as a source.
starting to think this card is a pain in the ass -

Im using win2k, wdm sblive drivers, wdm drivers for the tv card. what i think is that its defaulting to my mic on the webcam.. its a pain in the arse.. what os you using? -
In your wintv directory will be a util called audiosel.exe. Run this and enable line-in.
Worked for me. Sorry for the tardy reply. -
Got that program and seems to be getting there. However you know when you use something like Vidcap and then it plays a "donk" sound when you press ok to start capture.. thats when it kills the sounds from the line in socket. Any idea how to kill that bit that says, press ok to start capture.
ne ideas cause other than that seems to be ok
on a seperate note, i have a webcam that installs MS WDM Capture devices. I have to go into that and set the source from teh webcam to teh tv card.. shouldnt be a problem tho.. -
This may be a stupid question, but......
have you tried selecting line-in immediately after pressing the OK button? -
Closing are sure you hook up 1/8 mini plug rigth from the WinTV Line-OUT it gose to the SBLive Line-IN which is the 4th plug above the Joystick/Midi port.
As so with in WinTV2000 (see the small audio button) check your audio setting it sould be using Line-IN then make sure you select Rec Line-IN with in the LW3 Mixer.
What video captureing are you try to use?.
Why I ask it sound you did pick the rigth video device before start the recording.

Hi
Thanks to all that have solved it. Firstly its a strange thing because i had to turn up the mic, select line in for the sb card. Then I had to selet line in on the wdm drivers
Finally got that program for audio selection and kept an eye on that. Now it was picking up the sound from the webcam. Quick trip to control panel sorted out the default recording devices (sb live mic)
Then into vid cap.. Selecting the wdm device capture (which is shared by the webcam) and changed that to the tv card. Then start a recording, goto the audio selection program, select line in and its sorted.. phew..
its flipping annoying that I have to unselect line in and then select it again to record but thats the way it goes I suppose.. Phew.. Just a shame that I cant automate recordings now because of that little "bug". if anyone can solve it let me know. ITs late here so sorry if this post doesnt make the most sense ever...
cheers
