I am thinking of buying a new camcorder and was looking at the Sony DCRTRV265 (digital8 camcorder). I was wondering if anybody could tell me the camcorders pros and cons or any other suggestions on a better model for no more than £350.
Also i have noticed that on some websites there is a Sony DCRTRV265E version, i would be very gratefull if any one nows what the difference between the models, if any. The only difference i have noticed is the Sony DCRTRV265 has a click to vcd option and the Sony DCRTRV265E has a click to dvd option.
Here is a link for the DCRTRV265E http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0001GRIJE/ref=ase_interactiveda8-21/202-5390150-7339012
I would appreciate your views
Thanks

The E suffix on Sony equipment means that it is European spec. In the case of a camcorder this means PAL and not the US NTSC format. Advertisers often don't bother printing the E though, if you are buying it in Europe it will be an E model. The 265E looks to be a pretty good camcorder, it has DV in and out but I don't know if it has analogue in to allow it to be used as an analogue to DV passthrough (should you ever want to do this). The 460E does have analogue inputs though so if you can get one of those in your price range, go for that.
