Ok I have a DIVX DVD Player and I have a couple video files on my pc that are about 900 to 1GB whats the best way to reduce a AVi so it will be 700MB or less so I can fit it on a CDR....???
Im sorry I know there are probably multiple threads about this...but I searched and could find one....any feedback is appreciated.

1) Crop out unwanted footage with virtualdub in Direct Stream Copy in both Video and Audio. Like titles and end credits..but I doubt you lose 200-300mb
2) Re-encode the audio only to a lower bitrate..again VERY doubtful
3) Stick it on a DVD but as a DATADISK (dont bother making an actual DVD just burn the dam thing with Nero or summat). GOOD OPTION
4)Split over 2 CD's. GOOD OPTION
5)Re-encode the lot. BLAH...possible but why bother when the 2 GOOD OPTIONS are much quicker and dont reduce the quality?
6) Buy oversized CDr's overburn and hope a) you can burn them..and b) your player will accept them when burnt
