Hey guys, need some help.
Ever since I upgraded my dvd burner to a 8X NEC, I have been using my old Roxio cd/dvd creator and I did great!! All disks played on all my home dvd players.
But recently I upgraded and installed Nero 6 on my PC since nero can select to 8x speeds. So ever since I copy some backups using NERO with dvd-r's It only plays in my home PC or my other Yamakawa dvd home player.
My Toshiba does not play the nero copied disks. As a matter a fact my player locks up and I have to unplug it to get the dvd-r out of it.
But all my other media that I used and burned w/ Roxio, it plays in all my dvd players and that is including my Toshiba also.
-So my question is, what can be wrong? Is there a specific setting I need to have my NERO on to play my DvD-r disks on my Toshiba so it wont lock up. How about JOILET, should I have that off? Can that be the reason? ANy-one please help. I'd Love to use NERO b/c it can be used to burn at 8x and my Roxio software does not burn at 8x and only at 4x , so I would love to use NERO. But I need NERO to copy all my dvd-r's so they will play on all my home dvd players, included my Toshiba dvd player. Thanks

this is what NERO should look like:How about JOILET, should I have that off? Can that be the reason? ANy-one please help.

As you can see JOILET is not checked off.
I've read how roxio software can cause conflicts when using nero burn -
NERO is the best. Download the update from nero.com. That may solve your problem.Originally Posted by Regal

Maybe buring at 8X is the problem, did you try using nero and burn at a slower speed to see if it can be read on the DVD players that were giving you the problem.Originally Posted by Regal

N-E ways,, I uninstalled NERO. Installed Roxio back on , burnt a dvdR disk of a backup movie and popped it back in my toshiba dvd player and it plays fine.
Also on Nero Movie player , it says It will play video , but no sound and something about CODEC or something like that. Oh well what-ever to nero.*New Mac user*, been PC user 4 life -
You mean it is not checked. When you say "not checked off", it means to me that it is checked. It's like saying "it can not be unchecked" meaning "it must be checked"Originally Posted by budz
Nonetheless, I still don't know what is Joilet nor ISO. I read what ISO means but what does that have to do with me wanting it when I close Nero (I always check no or not save it). If it is a standard, then it shouldn't be an option? Now Joilet... reminds me of a video arcade
