Will a Divix vcd play on an old DVD player that is Divix enh

Okay, I have an old Proscan DVD player. When my wife purchased it, she was told that it was the best thing to have. You could buy Divix movies and play them on it. Well, can I make a Divix movie and play it on that DVD player?

I'm pretty sure the "Divx" mentioned for your DVD player is that old Circuit City (?) format that lets you buy a DVD-like disc that only plays for a certain amount of time. I'm pretty sure that there are no DVD players that can play the MPEG-4 DiVX codec... unfortunately ;-(

Yes, it was a Circuit City player. Well, I guess I will stick to VCD's on my Sony player then. Thanks
