conversion to divix

every time I try to use a dvd ripper and convert to divix the video comes out ok, but the audio goes silent every 10-15 seconds or so. I reviewd the various setting and can't find the problem.

You need to be a little more specific.

What software are you actually using ?
Do you see this problem when playing back divx files you didn't encode ?
Does it happen no matter what software you use ?
Do the files play OK on another computer ?

Try Autogk or Fairuse Wizard. See if that makes a difference.
