Hello,
I've been trying for weeks to successfully convert many different Divx files to mpeg1 for VCD. I've followed the tutorials on this page (and others) to the letter but am having NO luck. I don't get any errors from TMPGEnc or Nero. All files that are converted will play flawlessly on the PC, but I'm getting Disk Incompatibility Errors from my Kenwood DV-503 standalone DVD player. I thought it to be a problem with the player until I gave a converted disk to a friend who was also unable to play them. Yes, I've tried several different DivX files and ALL have exactly the same results.
I've searched the Net for issues that might pertain to WinXP and have yet to find any answers. Could this be a problem related to XP? All DivX files play just fine in various viewers, so I don't think it's an issue with my 3.1 or 4.2 codecs, or is it? I've also tried converting the mpeg's to bin/cue format for use in FireBurn and have the same results. I've tried using VCDeasy but all disks are Incompatible.
I assume this is a problem with the conversion process since so many burning softwares have been tried. I've also tried different media thinking it's something quarky with the disk's I'm using.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Bert
