    I have a home DVD that a friend gave me, but the aspect ratio is messed up. Is there a way i can modify the ratio using ffmpeg or some other utility? I'd still like to keep the other information on the DVD so the menus and chapters work.

    PullDownX can change the aspect ratio flag in the mpeg header. You could also do it by hand using hexedit, but why bother?
