i know its not video related, but i know most u guys in here are clued up on pc stuff, my cpu fan is spinning at 3835rpm's (amd athlon barton 3200 - with stock amd fan) does this sound about right, is there anyway i can speed my fan up? i have it connected to my asus a7n8x deluxe mobo, sorry for invonvenient post![]()

The fan should be running around 4800 rpm for a stock fan,if i were you i would replace it with a vantec brand or something similar.

im getting a scythe samurai, with some artic silver thermal paste, but untill then (about a week off) is there anything i can do to get higher rpms, thanx for the reply

I use a XP 2500 Barton with the stock fan. Running 4115 RPM at idle. CPU temp of 45C and case temp of 37C. It does speed up to about 4700 when under load. The fan is thermally controlled.
