I just installed a new DVD burner in my pc. Now I get no sound when playing dvd's. I do when I play anything else in it though inc. mp3 discs, regular music cd's, cd's with mpegs etc. Could it be a codec issue with Power DVD 5.0 which is the program I use for playing the dvd's? I'd think it'd install all necessary codecs along with the program though. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks. -Glyph

Hello,
What type of sound is the dvd? Is it dts? You might also want to check your input volume levels for your sound card. Check to make sure all of your input levels are at an audible level.
What type of mpeg files could you play through the dvd player? Were they mpeg2? If so than you have the necessary codecs.
