Hey all. I recently bought the LG 4082 writer. I'm having a few problems.
1) I usually use recordnow max to burn dvd's but that program doesnt recognize the new burner.
2) I use my xbox to watch dvds, but when i burn w/ nero 6316 none of them are recognized by the xobx. (yes, i had the xbox comatibility box checked)
I was using memorex dvd+r's in both writers. All of them worked fine using recordnow, and my previous burner. So, I have 2 questions 1) why isnt my new writer recognized by recordnow?
2) why are dvd's burned w/ recordnow readable in xbox, and dvd's burned w/ nero not readable in xbox??
If anyone has any suggestions or know of any solutions please let me know!!
thanx

I'm guessing it's the book type for the Nero/XBox thing, but I can't be certain.
As for burner compatibility, you'll need a new version of the PX Engine - which is the guts of Recordnow. Err... I don't have a link offhand - anyone?

My 4082 didn't like memorex but gets on very well with the generic brand sold by Tiger direct.
I have found Nero the best for burning, as it also verifies, most comforting if you are selling stuff like me.PAL/NTSC problem solver.

yeah, i like nero too, but i use my xbox to watch dvd movies and when i burn w/ nero none of them work in the xbox. Also, what type of memorex were you using; mine were the +r 10 pack spindles.

On my old Xbox had problem's with cheep media. I did burn with nero but if I burn with TDK no problem's. My other DVD player's play cheep media fine. I have a new Xbox I'll have to give it a try.
