Nero Start All program Icons

hi i would love some help here every time i move the nero icons in the start menu into a new place (ie: DVD & CD Programs) the icon come back in the main start program place can any one help with this do not want the icons in main menu

I'd love to help you but i don't quite understand what you mean. Can you try clarifying a bit more?

OK, If what you are asking is how to keep certain programs in a folder on your start menu? (This applies to XP at least)

Go to Start>My computer>(Your boot drive)>Documents and Settings>Owner(whatever name besides)>Start Menu>Programs.

There you add a new folder, say 'Video'.

Leave this folder open, then reopen your start menu.

Drag and drop (left click with mouse) and put those programs you want to organize in your new 'Video' folder.

Now, when you open your Start Menu (All Programs), all the programs you moved will be in this new folder.

You can reorganize your Start Menu this way and all programs will be accessible, just organized the way you want them.

You should also be able to customize the appearance of the folder you created. You right click on your new folder and choose 'customize', then you can put a picture or other graphic on your new folder to make it easier to find.

I think he is saying that he can move the icons, but on reboot they are restored to how they were originally.

If your using the XP menu it automatically creates shortcuts to your most used items. You can modify how many and other things by right clicking anywhere on the menu and select properties, next to XP menu select customize.

If that's not the problem.....

1. Look in Nero's options/preferences to see if there is any box checked that says show shortcut on start menu, run at startup etc.....reboot if you make any changes.

2.Look in your startup menu (go to start>run and type msconfig), if there's any Nero related startup programs uncheck them. While your there uncheck the rest of the crap you don't need. Go here to see what each program does before unchecking. Do not uncheck anything your not sure of. http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php

If that doesn't work there's probably a registry key that is regenerating the shortcut and that's beyond me.

I'm unsure of exactly where the icons are appearing so if I'm off track here let me know.

Ok thanks for the help will look into
just to make thing clear what i do i drag the icons in to a folder in the start start/all programs/cd & dvd
they stay there till i run nero then they are back in the start/all programs and the one`s i move are still in the cd & dvd
it`s just a pain

Well the programs automaticaly generating them, there's probably a check box in the options.
