OK...I'll say Lost In Space

It's campy, adventurous and Dr. Smith added a comedic touch to it.

The effects may seem cheesy and laughable compared to modern TV shows, but I don't like to take Sci-fi all too seriously anyway.

That really was one fine scifi series, then they turned Dr Smith gay LOL...I thought the Dr. Smith vs Robot dialogue was unique and side splitting at times. "You bubble headed booby!".....The Outer Limits was way ahead of it's time, even with the primitive special effects they used great casts, scripts, music and great acting to get the most out of it!

I assume since the new series hasn't started you mean the old one. Battle star is pretty good AS LONG AS you stick the the main story arc episodes only. Off the main story ark alot of them were stinkers. Even one of the main story episods is a little bit lame, but its worth it to get the full actual story.

That was required viewing from seasons 1 to 5 - it then got way laid with alien colonisation crap.

The best episodes were always the paranormal ones as opposed to the alien ones.

I think B5 because the science sort of takes a back seat to a great story. you actually care about the characters, when Ivanova is going to die i defy you to not shed a tear. wheras TNG when whats her name (security chick) dies you go "oh."

Plus there's some mysticism thrown in with Lorien and the story of the first ones.


SG-1 is a close contender, it was getting tired by series 4, but taking itself less seriously with episodes like "Wormhole X-Treme" and then playing with the prometheus...... pretty cool.

I tend to agree, but it did get pretty good in the last season or two when they started pushing it harder toward being a ripoff by going episodic.

i think BBC stopped airing it or i had something better to do near the end. last i remember seeing, the dominion -might- be invading and there were about 200 klingon ships floating outside. was there much after that?

I'm a great SciFi fan and I know almost all the series.

The best series is Babylon 5.

Then we have plenty others:

From Star Trek I prefer the original series. The worst is Enterprise , I don't like DS9 (it's a rip off!!! ), Voyager has only some good moments (most of the "Doctor" episodes) and the Next Generation has Patrick Steward. Now that I'm 30, I found next generation outdated (and innocent) but Patric Steward is the man! The perfect actor for that role!

The first season of space 1999 was good. In a way, it was like Star Trek TOS. Before the Italians and RAI **** it (season 2) actually had it moments

Farscape is amazing to watch but only once. I don't know why, I never felt any need to watch the same episode again all those years

Dark Skies was good. But unfortunatelly, noone watch it.

JMS's Jeremiah was an excellent SciFi story (well, semi SciFi). But it is also a cancelled series (and we in Europe didn't ever watch season 2 ...)

Knight Rider and I dream of Jeannie was fun to watch when I was at my early Teens. The first was SciFI once and the second... well... Blonde calling her fiance "Master". I loved that.... (it is SciFi, since it is impossible to make your wife answer you with a "yes master" those days....)

Battlestar Galactica was an amazing series back in the 70s. I have to buy it on DVD.....

The first episodes of Captain Harlock and Ulise 3000 was amazing. Cartoons, but I love them. So G Force, when I was 6!

The Crapiest SciFi series for me is Andromeda.

And I'm not a big fan of British SciFi (except space 1999). Dr Who for example, never touched me...
