I have several mpgs that I previously joined using Easy Video Joiner. I tried running them through TMPGEnc, but after encoding, the second half of the movie would have audio but no video. I decided to open them in Virtual Dub and I get the error :
MPEG: Anachronistic or discontinuous timestamp found in video stream 0 at byte position xxxxxxxx, from xxxxxxxx to xxxxxxxx. This may indicate an improper join.
I tried using MPEG-VCR and VCDGear, but neiither one solves the problem. I want to be able to burn these to a DVD once converting them to VCD. I have no problems with other movies, just the ones that are joined mpgs. Any suggestions?

Sounds like Virtualdub is trying to tell you that you have bad frames from a bad join.
You might try MPEG Corrector or other MPEG repair software. Virtualdubmod can probaby do it, but you would have to reencode.
If you still have the originals, try using TMPGEnc encoder to join. -
Dont join mpgs, just encode them separately and import them into a dvd authoring program like tmpgenc dvd author which will play them seemlessly if you add them into the same track.
I think,therefore i am a hamster.
