  1. Ok I want to create dvd like menu's for my svcd, Basically I want it to be like a dvd menu, I want my main menu to have a backround pic of my choice and have different options (play, chapter selection etc.) I want actual on-screen display that shows the word play and the words chapter selection and all I have to do is select which option I want and it will take me there. Anyways once I make a selection from my main menu I want more menu's branching off of that, ex. lets say I choose chapter selection I want to be able to go to another menu page that will display still pictures of each of my chapters that I can choose. I think everyone gets what Iam sayen I just want my svcd menu's to be as close to dvd menu's as possible, I want this to look good . Ok know what Iam asking is How can I do all of the above with VCDeasy?

This is exactly what my guide was written for.

  3. Your guide isn't exactly written for making (S)VCD menus, but for ripping menus off of a DVD and putting them on a (S)VCD.

  4. You're being rather facetious aren't you?

The hard part in making a S/VCD menu is not in sourcing the image. Whether you get that off a DVD or you make it yourself with Photoshop is of no consequence.

There is a lot to making S/VCD menus beyond getting images off a DVD and if don't understand that, I suggest you do a bit of learning and read that guide before making negative comments about it.

  5. Hey this still hasn't really answered my question. Adam I looked at your guide, I want to create all of my own menu's not extract them from a dvd, Its a really good guide though if you want to extract dvd menu's and put them on svcd but I want to create all of mine.

  6. Well then, use the same principles from the guide and make your own menus with an imaging program like Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop.

You asked how to do this with VCDEasy and in the SVCD format. My guide covers the entire authoring process after you have your assets. I'm not sure how a guide can really show you how to create your own assets. You simply draw them or use existing stills/footage. Its the preparation of those assets and the authoring of them that are steps particular to the (S)VCD format, and that's what the guide covers.

Other then that just open up any imaging program and draw. My guide does show you how to make 4 different types of roll overs for buttons and it shows you how to subtitle numbers onto video assets for use with motion menus.

If you want help with creating assets then I suggest you do some forum and/or google searches for creating assets for DVDs. You'll find alot more info on that and the process is exactly the same except you must use (S)VCD compliant resolutions...but to find out those you'll have to read my guide
