  1. i'm trying to create a motion menu with dvd author. i saved the video as mpeg2 48khz/256kbps audio. the video plays fine, but there's no audio. is there a certain setting it has to be, like 44.1 instead of 48 or mpeg1 or something? any help is highly appreciated.

  2. So on the motion menu tab you put a check in "use audio of the background video as the Menu BGM"?

The wording is pretty bad on many of the the Tmpgenc DVD options but my interpretation of the above is that you must check it to have the sound on your motion men.

  3. yea, i made sure that was checked, but i'm not sure if that's exactly what it's talking about. i think the video that option is talking about is if you put a video as the main backgroung. my video is for the box that takes you to the main menu.

  4. You can only use non compress audio with the menu.

  5. you're talking pcm wav? does it matter whether it's 44.1 or 48khz?

  6. ok, so is there a simple way to rip the audio from that clip into wav?

  7. I'd just re-read your post, the audio would only be the back ground, not the thumb nails (or tracks ). I don't think you can add audio with the thumb nails.

I think you're right. But why would you want 10-12 different audios all playing at the same time.

Or should I say with more authority like : YOU CAN'T have audio with track menus?

i'm only trying to use it for the main menus, not the chapter menus.

  11. You CAN have compressed audio, mine always do. From my experience you CAN'T use anything except full resolution (720*480) for motion menus and still expect the audio to work - seems to be some kind of bug.
So if you are using half D1, stop it.

I have used different resolutions with no problems. I don't think you can have AC3 audio unless you have the plugin. Use PCM (WAV) @ 48Khz.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  13. Let's see if I follow the problem correctly.

You're using a thumbnail for the main menu and you want the video thumbnail to provide the sound for the main menu?

If that is the case, I don't believe that can be done without a few extra steps.

Determine how much time you want for that thumbnail before it loops. Let's say 20 seconds. You need to extract the audio from your thumbnails start point to it's end point of 20 seconds. Then insert that audio as your background. Of course, keeping it in sync will probably be close to impossible since I don't think TMPGEnc tells you precise start/end points for the thumbnail.

That's the only way I know how to do it.
