  1. Can someone help me with this please. I have downloaded a video file that came in two segments. I joined the two segments using VirtualDub. Now I want to extract the audio from the movie so that I can encode it with TMPGEnc. When I attempt to do this with the movie I get an error message from VirtualDub that says: ACM failed to suggest audio decompression format. Does anyone know what I have done wrong or what I need to do to extract the audio from this file? Thanks in advance for the help.

  2. Are you able to play the file? (maybe you need to install a audio codec)

Attempt to identify the audio stream with GSpot.

  3. The file plays fine in all of the media players that I have tried it in. Does this help at all?

  4. Might be VBR audio.

What did GSpot say about it?

An alternative would be to extract the audio from the two separate files, and then rename them to sequential file names. TMPEGnc will load sequentially numbered files.

    Example_01.avi
    Example_01.wav

    Example_02.avi
    Example_02.wav

And then of course move the "DirectShow Reader" to the top of the VFAPI list.
