Somebody recently converted a VHS tape to DVD for me and it turned out pretty good. I converted it into a DivX movie using SimpleDivX but the resulting movie has no sound. I changed the settings to every combination possible but nothing works.
I can only assume it is because of the way it was converted as I have used SimpleDivX to convert commercial DVD's without any problem.
I have looked up another thread by someone who had this problem also and someone recommended GordianKnot which I tried but it only converts VOB files one by one. Most of the programs recommended seem to do the same (I would like the DVD files to be converted all together, the way SimpleDivX does)
Does anyone know how I can fix the audio problem with SimpleDivX or else of a program which may convert the DVD with the audio included?
Thank you.

you can try fairuse wizard.
tmpgenc xpress may also be good for homeburned dvds to avi.
