SimpleDivX, and cropping/resizing

I have a photo frame that i wanna play a movie on. First, i need to convert the DVD to DivX or XviD. The screen size is 480x234. In SimpleDivX, on the screen to input the dimensions, i choose "custom", and it asks for the cropping values and resizing values. I am not sure where i should put the values, which are again, 480x234. What do i put in the cropping field, and what do i put in the resizing field?

Please advise.

It depends on your source aspect ratio and if you want black borders or not. BUT just TRY different values and use the preview button and you should be able to figure it out.

Thanks for the suggestions, but this software is weird. I put the values in "resizing" field, and started the conversion. Then, after showing a black DOS window open up, and a lot of scrolling of certain lines of text which lasted about 10 seconds, the window closed, then the simple divx window was saying that the first pass was complete. Then, 10 seconds after that, it said it was all done. I think there is a bug somewhere. I've used DVD to DivX software before, but the conversion took about 2 hours to complete, not 25 seconds. LOL

I guess i'll try a different piece of software, maybe AutoGK.
