Hello there!

I own a DVD of kill bill, but alas, I do not own a dvd player. I am using a neighbor's computer to rip myself a copy to play on my dreamcast, using dcdivx (an offshoot of pocketdivx for the pocketPC).

The reason I am using 5.0.3 is because it works with the player I am outputting to (no guarantees on any later version).

Here is my issue:

I can get about 50 minutes of high quality encoding (950kb/s, bframes, 320 x 214 video, audio ripped to a seperate wave file), and then the quality drops DRASTICALLY in the video, as if it were perhaps 100-150 kb/s.

I have tried MULTIPLE DVD rippers (fairuse, imtoo to name a couple) but they all seem to be doing the same thing. This leads me to think that it may be a divx problem that you folks have run into before.

I have 20 gigs free on my hard disk, so there is no space issue (the final file should come out to about 1.4 gigs including the wav file).

One other thing. The system was NOT doing this before. It just decided to start messing up on me. If I had my way, I would use imTOO fulltime, then drop the audio into nero mp3pro encoder, then splice the two together in vdub. But any suggestions that will let me get back to work will be appreciated.

So, what do you folks suggest?
