    I can see why... Huh??

Maybe this isn't a bug, just an oversight. I just figured out that I have to Enable ForceRead Mode every time I boot the program. Even though it's in Preferences, it won't remember that setting from session to session. I'd like to leave it on permanently.

Aside from that, it's an awesome program that no Mac user should be without.

That's definitely NOT a bug. Force Read will physically destroy your drive on a bad disc if you aren't around to end the process. That feature should never be a default setting. If you have to force read all the time, maybe you should be more careful with your discs.

    Why?
If it isn't broken, take it apart and find out why.

Fair enough, then it shouldn't be in Preferences. If it's my *preference* for it to be enabled fulltime (since I generally stay nearby when ripping, and don't leave the house, go to bed, etc.), then as a "Preference", it should be remembered when I turn the program off. Otherwise, it should reside in another menu, or as a button on the interface, a la D-Macrovision. I can appreciate that some people are careless, but I should at least be given some credit for knowing better if I do.

DLilly, I wasn't insulting your intelligence. The authors of MTR caution against using force-read except as a last resort. I give them credit for making the program as fail-safe as possible.
