  1. Hello,
I am new to DVD backup software. I recently used DVDdecryptor/IfoEdit/Re-Mpeg to make a "movie only" back up. The disk plays on my PC after the fallowing warning, but it will not play in my stand-alone player (PS2). This is the warning:

"Previously this DVD title's playback was interrupted before completion. Where would you like to start playback this time?"

A)Play DVD title from the beginning
B)Resume playback from the last scene

No matter which I choose the DVD will start from the beginning, and seems to play fine -but only on the PC. When I put it in my stand-alone player (PS2) it says: Disk Read Error.

Is there anything I can do short of re-doing the whole process? I would hate to have to Re-encode again because it took such a long time.
    Thanks much for any help!

This is just a guess, but it sounds like a bad burn or bad media. You could try playing the VOB files in the computer and see if they are OK. The part about saying the 'titles playback was interrupted' sounds like a player issue. You could try reburning, but if there are errors are in the file, you may be better with reincoding.

  3. Thanks for the responce,

I have already burned three disks with the same results. And this same media has worked for the first backup I did of a different movie. There are 3 VOB files and they all seem to play fine in VOBrator.

It seems to me that one of the other files might be telling the Player to start the movie at the wrong place/sector?/whatever. But I don't really understand how those files work. So I'm not sure how to tell or edit it if that is the case.
