Hi,
I wish to convert some TV series from DVD to DiVX.
Conversion is no problem.
The question I have is that I live in a PAL based country and because of this there is a considerable time lag between the release of new series in the UK than America on NTSC some 6 months.
Would I get a better quality conversion from a NTSC DVD (720 x 480 29.97fps) source or am I best to wait for a PAL DVD (720 x 576 25fps) source. Will this give me better conversion source?
Does the NTSC source exhibit combing due to pull down from the original material which I presume was shot on film?
Thanks

i use Procoder to convert between systems. the best soft, but still not perfect.
if you use it, you get a good quality, but not the same.
if you want dvd quality, then you have to wait.
