Im trying to convert an xvid with 5 channel ac3 to dvd. I am trying to extract the audio from the file but it becomes 2 channel stereo, I am using VD. I want to keep the 5 channels. Is that possible? Also is there a converting program that will convert the ac3 audio to audio i can burn onto a dvd?

you could also try winavi video converter...it claims that it can keep the ac3 audio. i haven't tried it though.

  3. I use besweet.exe with the -payload switch to extract, then ac3fix.exe to make it compliant ac3, just in case. You will need vobinput.dll in the besweet folder. Syntax: besweet.exe -core( -payload -input "file.avi" -output "file.ac3" )
vobinput/besweet will say wrong substream if the file is in use by other programs.
