    Hello,
You need to have a video output installed on the laptop to do it properly. There are probably usb adapters available also. If you have a video out already just hook up the video cable (svideo or rca yellow) to the tv/vcr. Get a y splitter to hook up the sound card to the audio input. Use the software included to switch the output to the tv. You need a macrovision hack to watch dvds through the output though.

i have svideo on my laptop. i know how to hook everything up, but i'm not sure what i'm suppose to do on the latop to make it send the video over through the svideo to the tv. on my desktop i have a way of going into the display properties and in the advanced setting there is something there that does it. but on my laptop when i go there i don't see anything that can do it. is there somewhere else i can go on my laptop to do this?

  4. Sometimes the dvd player on laptops will automatically turn on the output of the SVid to TV when you try to play a DVD. But with other vid types that presents a problem and sometimes does not autoplay thur SVID... in that case a software program or keystroke would be in order to accomplish that.

Worst case... call the mfg of the laptop.

Check the TV output port is enabled in the BIOS. It sometimes isn't as default.

  8. Don't know if this will help, but my Dell Inspiron usually will boot to TV OUT when something is plugged into it AND it is turned on in the Display Properties. The video card in it is ATI, and there is special tab under Properites that enables and disables it.

Is your laptop made by a company called Laptop??

Maybe some who has a laptop made by Laptop will know how they do it. And they can provide you with suggestions on how they connect to a TV.

I have four laptops but they are not made by Laptop.
