  1. is there a limit for the length of time of video for adobe premiere 6.0? i am editing a religious video from two DVDR. I ripped the video and audio tracks and the total lenght of the two discs are over 3 hours. When i'm in premiere, i can't add the final video and audio clip because it seems that premiere won't let me go over 3 hours in the timeline.

what should i do? can i increase that 3 hour limit? is there another editing tool besides Adobe Premiere that I can use to do this?

any help would be greatly appreciated!! thanks!

    Hi superlum,

If you don't get any joy here, you could try searching / posting at http://www.wrigleyvideo.com/ as that site is dedicated to Adobe Premiere and related applications.

    Good luck...

P.S. If you do find out, please post back as many people use Premiere and it'd be a useful thing to have in the knowledge base.

  3. The time limit in Adobe Premiere is 3 hours. Anything over that and you will need to break up the project into two projects. Premiere Pro does not have this limit.

    Hi superlum,

If you're planning on going from AVI to DVD (i.e. encoding to MPEG2), being forced to do it as 2 Premiere projects isn't so bad.

I use TMPGEnc DVD Author to create the VOB, BUP & IFO files and I have added more than one MPEG2 file into a single track and it's worked as if it was one continuous track (i.e. single file). I believe that other DVD authoring tools (i.e. like DVD Lab) should do the same.
